Day 1 –  Overnight Flight to Milan

Board your international flight bound for Italy. As you fly across the Atlantic, imagine the days ahead filled with art, culture, coastlines, and the classic charm of Italian life.

Day 2 – Arrival in Milan & Transfer to Lake Como

Welcome to Italy! After touching down in Milan, you’ll head straight to the idyllic Lake Como region. This serene corner of Lombardy, surrounded by forested mountains and graceful villas, is a perfect starting point. Enjoy a welcome dinner with lake views and meet your fellow travelers.

Day 3 – Lake Como’s Villas & Waterfront Towns

Spend the day exploring the picture-perfect villages that hug Lake Como’s shoreline. Visit elegant villas with blooming gardens and glide across the lake by boat. Enjoy lunch in a quaint lakeside café and admire the Alps reflecting in the water. The slow pace and timeless scenery make this a truly rejuvenating day.

Day 4 – Verona’s Heritage & Arrival in Venice

Say goodbye to the lake and head to Verona, a city steeped in history and romance. Visit the Roman amphitheatre still used for operas, and Juliet’s famed balcony. Later, continue east to Venice, arriving as the evening light shimmers across the canals.

Day 5 – Venice: Canals, Palaces & Glassmakers

Day 6 – Journey to Florence

Travel through the plains of Veneto and Tuscany until you reach Florence. This jewel of the Renaissance welcomes you with its red rooftops and riverside charm. Check into your hotel and enjoy an evening at leisure.

Day 7 – Florence’s Artistic Treasures

Begin your morning with a guided tour of Florence. Visit the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore with its iconic dome, the Baptistery, and Piazza della Signoria. Then see Michelangelo’s David in the Accademia Gallery. The afternoon is free for museums, shopping, or perhaps a stroll through Boboli Gardens.

Day 8 – Umbria’s Spiritual Heart in Assisi

Head into the green heart of Italy and arrive in Assisi, the hometown of St. Francis. Visit the Basilica with its frescoes and enjoy the tranquil pace of this hilltop town. Wander medieval streets and take in sweeping views of the Umbrian countryside.

 

Day 9 – To Sorrento via Naples

Descend south toward the Bay of Naples and the charming coastal town of Sorrento. With citrus groves, vibrant piazzas, and cliffs dropping into the sea, Sorrento is the epitome of Mediterranean relaxation.

 

Day 10 – Pompeii & the Secrets of Ancient Rome

Today, step into a city frozen in time. Explore Pompeii’s ancient ruins—its streets, villas, and baths preserved beneath volcanic ash. Return to Sorrento for an afternoon of local flavors and perhaps a sunset drink overlooking the bay.

 

Day 11 – Optional Capri or Relax in Sorrento

Choose to join an optional excursion to Capri, the island of emperors and movie stars. Cruise around the island, explore the Blue Grotto, and shop in stylish boutiques. Or stay in Sorrento to relax and enjoy the dolce vita.

 

Day 12 – Back to Rome

Leave the coast and head back to the capital. Check into your hotel in Rome and enjoy a relaxed evening or a moonlit walk past the Colosseum.

 

Day 13 – Rome’s Imperial Glory

Spend the day discovering Ancient Rome. Walk through the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill. Learn about gladiators, emperors, and everyday life in the Empire.

 

Day 14 – The Vatican & Farewell Rome

Day 15 – Departure from Rome
